Our Mission.... Skate with Heart!
Roller Derby is the fastest growing sport for women and girls in America. Junior Roller Derby focuses on teaching the fundamentals of roller skating, and the game of Roller Derby. The goal is to foster communication, teamwork, athleticism, healthy eating, and above all a fun!
Memphis Junior Roller Derby's Delta's Angels are featured (click the link!) on page 30 - in an article on FIT Kid in March 2014's issue of Memphis Health & Fitness Magazine.
The article highlights the commitment of roller derby and junior roller derby in its continued effort to legitimize the game as a sport among fitness peers. These girls work hard, and I challenge anyone to skate a day in their wheels.
Thank you to our skateboarding peer David Thorton for writing a great article and thank you to Joey Hurt and Jamie Harmon of Amurica for the awesome photos!
Junior derby welcomes all! We have spots open for boys to train as referees and if they feel so inclined to start a boys junior league, they are welcome to do so! We will help in any way possible.
March 15th, we are having a silent auction fundraiser to continue to raise money to travel to Johnson City for the Angel's first official game!
Join MRD and MJRD for a Double Header SUPERHERO Blow out at the Mid-South Fairgrounds on Saturday - March 15th! Doors open at 5pm - bout starts at 6pm.
Come visit the Delta's Angels booth! See you there!
